Market Price List - August 29 to September 3 2011

This week's current Market Price List is up!

Our product offering has already incorporated our Organic Produce, so expect an even longer Market Price List.

As the produce list for both organic and non-organic look very similar, please make sure to check under which category you are ordering from, so that you don't make the mistake of quoting prices from the wrong category. We'll study as well on how to make the Price List more concise to avoid any confusion.

Some notes on this week's produce:

Non-organic/Regular Produce
  • There's a bit of price change for Baguio-grown vegetables due to the recent typhoon. We tried to keep it as low as we could, but you may feel the pinch in some items.
  • To all Mango lovers: Alas, the season is on its way out. Supply is limited, and prices have increased. Kindly take note of this when you order.

Organic Produce
  • Veggies that are available for delivery this week are identified in red. You may order from these items only.
  • All organic produce are priced according to weight, including fruits.
  • Organic produce will be available for delivery on Friday and Saturday.
  • Order cut-off for organic produce is Tuesday, 3PM. Please keep this in mind as it is different from the cut-off for non-organic produce.

Thanks guys!

It's a veggie birthday!

These past few months we've been getting orders for fruit and veggie baskets as birthday, housewarming, or get-well gifts. It's quite a unique present, and the recipient is always in for a lovely surprise.

Recently, we took part in a cute and fun birthday concept for a special fitness personality.

Our dear friend, Tamila Chan of Tamila Bags recently threw her mom, Ms. Cory Quirino, a veggie-inspired birthday bash fit for the health queen herself.

Check out the giveaways:

The loot bags? No less than Tam's very own Tamila recyclable shopping bag.
Aren't they absolutely vibrant and gorgeous?

And the lovely loot! Fresh giant vegetables care of you know who. ☺
It's not quite evident in the photo, but we prepared a birthday giveaway package containing garlic, large imported white onions, cucumber, class A capsicums in two colors, and giant eggplant. The veggies were a huge hit (pun intended)!

Now, isn't that a sight to behold?
The birthday cake was an intricate Asparagus Cake by Coco Cakes.
That's moist chocolate cake with peppermint filling. YUM.

Finally, the lovely birthday girl herself.
Happy birthday Ms. Quirino!
What a joy it was to be a part of this celebration.

On your special occasions, think outside the box and find ways to be different. More importantly, go green! Advocate health and wholeness with your creative ideas. There is immense value in gifting something that enriches life.

Also, if you loved the Tamila Bags, email Tam Chan for inquiries. She has great stuff, all locally made.

Coco Cakes also has amazing handiwork. For your cake needs, we highly recommend Coco

Thank you, My Personal Farmer!

Guess what came in the mail today?

Freshly harvested organic vegetables from our friends at My Personal Farmer!

It's a poor photo, but it was the best one trusty blackberry could take. haha.

Feeling the love from Bukidnon! Thank you to all the hands in Mindanao who labored to bring us such a lovely harvest.

We're sharing the love by giving a free organic papaya to all our deliveries tomorrow. ♥

Are you an organic produce consumer?
Take our quick survey, your 5 answers will help us immensely.

Steve & the famous Apple.

There's a lot of hubbub on social media today because of Steve Job's resignation as Apple's CEO.

I am a Mac user and own a few Apple products. I am a huge fan of Steve. You could say he is one of my heroes, being the brilliant visionary that he is.

I thought I'd honor him today by posting his Commencement Address in Stanford six years ago. It's a beautiful speech on living out one's passion as if it was your last day. It spoke truth to me, I hope his words inspire you too.

Raising my glass to you, Mr. Jobs. I pray you good health in the years ahead.

Organic Produce?

As you know, we are continuously searching for the freshest and healthiest produce out there. Over the past months we've been getting quite a number of inquiries for organic produce. We've done a bit of research from our end on what it means to be truly organic, it's farming practices, certification, and where to get them.

We're throwing out a survey to those who have at one point in time inquired about organic veggies from us. Your input is extremely crucial as it will determine our next course of action. Not to worry; we will not ask for you to divulge your name, only that you indicate the area you reside (village & city).

Thank you in advance for your feedback, friends! This will help us greatly in the decisions ahead. ♥

Quick Tip: Storing Pineapple

Did you know that sugar is concentrated at the base of a pineapple?
Store them upside down for a day or two at room temperature
and allow the sweetness to spread throughout the fruit.
